The city of Budapest is the capital of Hungary. It is one of the ancient cities, which have a centuries-old history. It is a home to many civilizations and ethno linguistic groups. Their stories are deeply rooted in the atmosphere of the city.

The city of Budapest has also been a witness to Hungarian revolution of 1848 and 1956. Over the course of last few decades it has come a long way in becoming the European Center for Commerce, Finance, Technology, Education and Tourism. It is one of the most beautiful cities in Europe. It is a popular tourist destination.More than 4 million people visit the city of Budapest every year from all over the world.

Our travel club arranged a visit to this historic city in the first week of November as winter is considered the best time to visit. Budapest Weather and nightlife provide a unique experience to the travelers.

Danube Promenade

When we reached here at night the thing that we wanted to do was to take the relish Danube Promenade. The Danube is the second largest river in Europe. It also bisects the city of Budapest. Danube Promenade is a walk along the Danube River, which provides comfort to the travelers. The sight over the River’s Buda side reflects the picturesque view of Buda Castle, Fisherman’s Bastion and Liberty Statue. There are numerous restaurants and café alongside the river, which provide all sorts of cuisines. We spent hours enjoying the nightlife of the city while walking and eating at the side of the river.

The Historic Architecture of the City of Budapest

The capital city is a UNESCO heritage site owing to the historic buildings, which have existed for years. The most popular building in the city is the neo-gothic parliament of Hungary. It is 268 meters of length and home to all sorts of parliamentary offices, historical icons, restaurants, and museums. We visited heroes square in the city, which was built in the commemoration of Chieftains who led the Hungarians to Europe. Memento Park, state opera house and St. Stephen’s Basilica are other historical buildings in the city.

There are numerous spas in the city where the most famous of them is Gellert Baths. We spent quite some time here trying to relinquish the fatigue of days travel. One of the greatest things about this city is its Pubs and Bars, which provide an escape from the routine of life. Many Ruin Pubs set up in deserted buildings can be found around the city. This has now become city’s signature among pub-goers.

We stayed for a week in the city and every moment was soaked in its unique atmosphere.
