For the competitive paddler who wants to push themselves a little more, this program will focus on individual improvement assessed through regular time trials. Team blending will be a priority with higher expectations for team commitment. Paddlers will choose goal races throughout the season that they will aim for while training. Although the standards for commitment and personal training are higher, we hope to be flexible and balance paddling with other life choices. Paddlers should be training independently in smallboats as well as group OC6 practices, be sufficient in self-rescue skills, be comfortable in waves and choppy waters, and have had long distance race experience with a minimum duration of 1.5 hrs.
Coached sessions will be on Monday and Wednesday with self run work outs on Saturdays.
Be on the water for 6:30. Arrive 15 min before to load canoes. We will not wait for late paddlers.
